I know there are a lot of us nerdy Sci-Fi / Trekky fans on this site . Here is a list of what should be coming out this year.    I can't wait.

I’m delighted that Andy Wier’s debut novel, The Martian, is being filmed now and due for release in theatres Nov 2015! This is my favorite novel of 2014, and high on my all time favorites. It’s diamond-hard, near future SF – my best critical effort to find scientific accuracy and story plausibility failure found only two, and those minor and forgivable. Andy Wier himself is a science nerd’s nerd. I imagine the thrill he’s feeling approaches the sum of his fans'.

I’ll be grinning for days at the prospect of seeing this movie.

 

My only worry is that producer/director Ridley Scot doesn’t ruin it with any fuzzy-soft science fantasy elements like those in his 2012 film Prometeus.
