Moontanman Posted January 12, 2015 Report Posted January 12, 2015 I know someone else has a thread similar but I don't want to take his off topic so I'll ask it here. I have been trying to work up a three star system with two g type stars orbiting 10,000,000 miles from each other with a third red dwarf orbiting the two G type stars about 20,000,000 miles from the two and a giant planet in a stable orbit in the liquid water zone, maybe a bit beyond the traditional life zone which should be fairly far out due to the heat from the three stars. I want to make a super earth in a stable orbit around the giant planet. I have a link to a site that allows me to figure things like temperature zones of orbit and mass and gravity of planets but it is an old link evidently is degraded somewhat because it keeps giving me nonsensical numbers. Does anyone have a link to a better calculation site? Quote
Eclogite Posted January 13, 2015 Report Posted January 13, 2015 No, but the University of St. Andrews has exoplanet researchers who model orbits. You could go there and do a Ph.D. I could drop by once a quarter for a beer. :) LaurieAG 1 Quote
