Integza Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 (This video has Subtitles) In this video i try to make an approachable explanation of what is sound. Because is something so fundamental in our lifes, deserves to be understanded in physical terms but don't worry, this is a simplified version. First is explained how sound is a vibration and a wave, then is approached a very important property of sound, Frequency.I also talk about the speed of sound and how it changes with the medium in wich it propagates. In the end i mention some cool applications of sound like breaking glasses, visualizing sound and levitating small objects. fahrquad Posted December 31, 2015 Report Posted December 31, 2015 In its simplest form, sound is the transmission of a vibration through a medium. If a tree falls in a vacuum, does it make a sound? Quote

Montaigne Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 On a humorous note, here's something on the devastation of sound decibels titled "Sounds of Mayhem" (crude, juvenile illustrations of Thomas the Train, demonic lawn mowers, and pants peeing included). Doesn't really clarify an approachable explanation o what sound is, but how to use it against others, haha!http://powertrainhorns.com/blog/sounds-of-mayhem-how-to-destroy-your-enemies-with-invisible-waves Quote
ToryRodgers Posted February 8, 2016 Report Posted February 8, 2016 Interesting facts but the only sound I know right now is the notification on my mobile/laptop/tablet Quote
