cruisin84 Posted January 4, 2019 Report Posted January 4, 2019 True. I admit that I can't imagine living without the help of any form of technology. Quote
larinika Posted June 15, 2019 Report Posted June 15, 2019 We are not just dependent on technology. We sprouted each other. I can not imagine life without a phone, planning, smart TV, home appliances. And without a computer and mail, I think all my work will become and I will be left without money. I had a situation when the virus hit the computer and only a small part of the files disappeared. It was a disaster. We are not just dependent on technology. We sprouted each other. I can not imagine life without a phone, planning, smart TV, home appliances. fahrquad Posted June 20, 2019 Report Posted June 20, 2019 I dislike technology letting people vote; if people are to have elections, they should walk or make a physical journey to their polling station. So people with physical disabilities should be denied the rights and privileges guaranteed by the constitution? Quote

Dubbelosix Posted June 20, 2019 Report Posted June 20, 2019 The younger generation is too dependent in my eyes and can often teach them the wrong way to act... plus access to pornography is rife with young people. In this sense, yes technology is not only becoming too dependent but it is also dangerous when not controlled. Quote
fahrquad Posted June 20, 2019 Report Posted June 20, 2019 (edited) Does anyone else ever feel that we have become too dependent on technology? I don't travel often, but when I go someplace, I enjoy navigating without the use of anything more than a map. Sometimes I do arithmetic without a calculator. I will even lift ridiculously heavy things, just to make sure I still can. Anyone else have similar feelings about technology? Sorry I couldn't respond sooner. The ice man just made a delivery for the icebox and I was splitting wood for the cook stove so I can make lunch. The postman delivered the mail late again. This time his horse threw a shoe and the ferrier had to make a call. Anyhow I was just sitting here listening to the Marconi and they were talking about Keiser Wilhelm again. I suppose I best trim the candle wicks and render some tallow before I have to feed the chickens again, so I better go. Ta Ta for now. Edited June 20, 2019 by fahrquad Quote
