Maine farmer Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 Was looking over some old college text books and reminiscing about my misspent youth. Looking back now that I have acquired more experience and something resembling wisdom, I realize that I should have been a much better student. My biggest mistake as a student was that I didn't ask enough questions. There were a few topics that I struggled with, and rather than demanding a full understanding of the underlying principles, I satisfied myself with trying to remember equations, and focusing on being able to calculate the right answer for the exams, even if I did not understand either the question or the answer. So, to any students that may come across my comments, I would advise you to be more demanding of yourself and your instructors. If you don't understand something, SPEAK UP! Quote
wiseshopper Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Precisely! As a student, you must not rely only on books and what a professor taught you. You may try getting an answer from other people too. Inquiring is very important to fully understand a topic. Quote
