Radioactive And Sound Waves - References

Hi , I will offer/submit to a journal  my first research (proposal) project about waves.

my first question :

 

I will use this book as a main reference for physical part : "robert eisberg ,robert resnick ,quantum physics ,of atoms ,molecules,molecules ,nuclei and particles - (second edition)" 

is this problem? (because ,popular journals generally would most recent papers)

this is a project ,so there exists novel creation. and because of this ,I do not want to use so much widening reference list.

is this problem?
