insciencewetrust Posted October 16, 2016 Report Posted October 16, 2016 Hello everyone what do you think about student conferences? I thought maybe there are more people, who organizes small lectures or even conferences and would like to share their experiences. :) As much as I know there are some scientists that would gladly come to student conference because of the idea itself but they won't go to "normal" conferences. Have you ever tried to organize one? Do you think it is important to try to motivate young personalities to be interested in science? By science I mean scientific carrier, conferences, publications and so on. I am trying with few other students to organize a conference. It is organized not for the first time, but it is first time, when I am so much involved. The conference is called Open Readings: https://www.facebook.com/OpenReadings/. It is incredible how much you can learn by doing this. This year we created new website: www.openreadings.eu and I learned a little bit more about websites. The most incredible part is that we can invite any lecturer we want! And that strange feeling when you read on the internet that one of your invited lecturers just won Nobel prize! Quote
fahrquad Posted October 25, 2016 Report Posted October 25, 2016 Really? Do you have nothing better to do or are you just a spam-bot? Quote
