billvon Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 hi,I search the information which may be complete by given the questions below 1) do journals publish theses?2) which requirements are required to write book in journals? (payment - permissions ) many thanksJournals publish papers within their field of study. Most such journals publish papers on original research, backed up by experimental results. You will also have to follow their style guidelines. These may be formal (you can ask for them) - but reading papers submitted to the journal as a starting point is generally a good idea. Quote
sanctus Posted November 22, 2016 Report Posted November 22, 2016 Wrt to theses, if you mean your thesis, if there is original research in it then you can write your thesis in article format (eg. meaning replacing the 50 pages of intro with a few paragraphs with references to articles having done similar things, etc.). Just like billvon said, read some articles of the given journal (depending on your field, you might find them for free on arxiv) to know what is expected. A theis in itself is never published, even if it gets you the nobel price, an article is wanted. Quote
inverse Posted November 24, 2016 Author Report Posted November 24, 2016 many thanks. as far as I observed ,these days popular journals are focuse on what authors provide in literature rather than the degrees (MSc ,PhD and the fields etc)we clearly observed that many many PhD students could not get published any article in journals especially popular ones.furthermore it is more pleasure for me to study independently with no courses (MSc or PhD) I believe that it is better for me so. but there exists one interesting detail most of journals define limitations for words that authors are allowed for papers. and another interesting detail is that while editorial assistant informed me some limits for references ,I see most of other authors' papers are not in conformity that limitations. e.g. one journal says that standart articles' references "max of 50" but one author writes 84 :)review article "max of 100" but I saw someones' are more than 250 references. ?? Sometimes, the really interesting ones are published as monographs, i.e. short books. Generally, academic theses are made available in the university library, where other scholars can consult them. Journals will publish papers that are relevant, follow their style guidelines and have been reviewed to ensure they are of good enough quality to merit publication. Quote
