I was just remembering how when I learned about imaginary numbers, I thought it was an exercise in the absurd, but then when I took my one semester of electrical engineering, we were using imaginary numbers to solve real problems. Shortly after I had that thought, I was watching a documentary about quantum mechanics, and the part about quantum computers got me to thinking... It is really hard to build a quantum computer, so what if we built a virtual reality quantum computer instead? Quote

Interesting thought! I can’t see how the virtual machine can run any faster than the physical host as all of the instructions must pass through the physical cpu. Quote

If all parts equal up to the whole, and the part inside the world is higher than X, the virtual CPU cannot be used in the way you describe. There is no negative parts (as any used would affect both CPUs, negating itself out of the equation) and also because whoever wants to build a fast CPU and puts one in a device to slow it down shouldn't have the advanced knowledge needed to make a CPU :P --@Kayaba Quote

Now I am curious. I know that they model things all the time and run simulations on computers to see if the design works. Does anyone run computer simulations of computers on computers? Quote

"computer simulations of computers on computers?" I've run many before, personally. They're quite slower.
