Guest kyle8921 Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Ok, in the distant future, let's say that we finally master time and space, and decide to travel a few thousand years in the past. Now, let's say that something messes up in the time-travelling craft, and the time-travellers can no longer return to their present lifetime. So here they are, thousands of years in the past, surrounded by people who don't understand the technology. They would have certainly worshipped the people from the future as "gods." And so, the people who time-traveled thought that they might do something good for mankind, so they posed as gods, and did great things for the people, and in a way, started religions, and not to mention, taught them things that we don't understand today. Seriously, how could the Egyptians have known the mass of the four innner planets relavtive to each other, without some kind of higher technology? How did the Mayans understand such complex things about the cosmos? People try to explain how the pyramids were built and stonehenge and other things like that, but the explanations are never really... satisfying. Why do almost ALL gods come from the sky? The Bible CLEARLY describes some kind of craft MANY times, one that flies with fire and clouds, one that's loud, and one that comes with booms and flashes of light, along with many other religions. The gods often can perform great miracles for the people. Of course people in the future could use their technology near the people of the past, and they would never understand it, and think it be divine in nature. Or, maybe in the future the world is coming to an absolute end and a few people manage to escape it by time-travelling to the past, and go to different areas of the world? But, they would have tried to leave a warning for themselves in the future to not make the same mistakes, so they tried to teach the people do good things and what not. Well, of course it didn't work, or maybe, hasn't worked yet? Or maybe, there WAS no religion, but because of the "time-travelling" people, WE are now experiencing the world WITH religion, and all the "gods" are stories of these time-travellers? The descriptions all fit. Well I'm just rambling on now about stupid crap. I'll stop that I'll get flamed for. :) Quote

machbreaker_73 Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 No time travelers did not start relgion. The time machines of my time do not have anything to do with engines or clouds of any kind. Instead-its a controlled craft which is made of strong metalic type matter close to that of steel. The outside can be seen through a rather large window and the outside of the craft is unseen to eyes. MACHBREAKER 73 ROCKS!! sorry Quote
