Jumping Text

Friends, 

I have a late 2014 Desktop Apple and my browser is "Safari."

I'm trying to read and the text keeps scrolling rapidly—I mean every 2 or 3 seconds. I've tried keeping my hands off the mouse until ready to scroll down. I've tried turning the mouse off. For a couple days highlighting a portion of the text seemed to freeze the text but no more!

Nothing works. When I get so angry that I scream in rage and startle my poor dogs things are bad.

Please, can anyone help.

Shot in the dark, but does the problem persist when you remove the mouse from your computer?  If so, try disabling the touchpad.  I don't have any Apple products though, so I could be missing something obvious.

Another shot in the dark -- does your Mac have a plug-in keyboard?   Try swapping it out, it may have a stuck key.   Banging on it a bit to dislodge the stuck key might help, too.
