galaxy7474 Posted June 7, 2017 Report Posted June 7, 2017 i was just wonderingisn't it possible to use the doppler effect (for example accelerate a reflective surface away or towards a gamma or radio waves source) to produce a higher or lower frequency waves than natural occurring ones in a form of reflected wave which can be directed where ever you want? But obviously the problem would be the surface would soon be too far away from the source to work any more. I suppose you could imagine a device that worked intermittently, allowing the surface to be returned close to the source and the process repeated. But what would be the point, given that sources of these different frequencies are usually available directly? Edited June 8, 2017 by exchemist Quote
