Moontanman Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 (edited) Would the presence of other metals have an effect on the core density? I ask due to the effects of metals in other bodies like stars having a profound influence far out weighing their percentage of composition... Not sure if gold and platinum would have any effect in the arrangement of atoms at the core. But there is enough gold to cover the earth in a 3 meter thick layer and 6 times as much platinum... not to mention large amounts of uranium and thorium. It seems to me these elements could have some effects on the crystalline structures of the core... Edited July 5, 2017 by Moontanman Quote
