Hi!

I'm writing an essay and need information on how respiration in prokaryotes works. I have found some books, but they are not straightforward in a step-by-step explanation, ranting about hundreds of enzymes, electron carriers etc. along the way. How does the link reaction occur in prokaryotes or what happens if there is no link reaction? How does the krebs cycle and electron transport chain occur? And also information about anaerobic respiration is more than welcome. I would need information specifically for the E. Coli bacterium. If possible, please  also mention the source of your explanation

Thanks a lot!!
