Most Effective Weapon - The Simplest ?

Based on -

 

* Collateral damage

* Training required to use and deploy the weapon

* Portability

 

how would you rate the following weapons as dumb or smart -

 

bio-weapon - dumb

chemical weapon - dumb

nuclear weapon - dumb

laser - a bit of both

TNT - dumb

grenade - so-so

rifle - quite smart

sword - reasonably smart (need a scimitar / shield)

knife - really smart 

 

This leads us to the amazing paradox that the age-old knife is still the most effective weapon (for many millennia). it can, in fact, be used in the kitchen !!!  :vava:

The "smartest" weapon is not a weapon.  A well trained and disciplined mind is key.
