Here is a science thought experiment (question) for all to consider.

 

There are two clocks that record the arrival time of light pulses. The clocks print out the arrival times on a piece of paper. If two events are recorded and the two pieces of paper do not have the same time printed then the two events occured sequentially, by definition. We have the clocks placed on the forward and rearward points on a moving frame. A pulse of light is directed at each clock at the same instant from the midpoint of the clocks. The rearward clock bears down on the rearward directed light pulse, while the forward clock runs away from the forward moving light pulse.

 

If the pieces of paper show two different times of arrival of the light pulses at the two clocks (the rearward arrival time occuring beforwe the forward arrival time) could any observer realistically convince you that the events occured simultaneously? To repeat, could anyone convince you that the light pulses arrived simultaneously at the two clocks uisng the same two pieces of a paper that had two different times printed thereon?

 

If your answer is yes, then you are a candidate able to discard your rational thought processes, disregard physical unambiguous observations and to accept as realistic events labeled as "counterintuitive". You are a righteous candidate to learn and accept special relativity theory as your basic format in viewing the universe around you.
