blackmint Posted September 13, 2017 Report Posted September 13, 2017 Firstly, I do not really like Gordon Ramsay's attitude, and know something he did in the past that I did not consider him a good person. With all that has happened between me and him. BUT This book, simply amazing, is more than a book to use everyday with simple recipes than other cookbook books included. And you do not need a better knowledge or how to handle components and what not. I keep this book in my closet and run it almost daily for ideas. I would like to do something meaningful for Gordon Ramsay's! Quote
exchemist Posted September 13, 2017 Report Posted September 13, 2017 Interesting. I've never really gone in for Ramsay, for some reason. I do like people like Simon Hopkinson (who used to write excellent recipes in the Independent, many of which I cut out) and Bruce Poole, who were at Bibendum and Ruth Rogers and Jamie Oliver who are/were at the Rive Cafe, both of these being in London. A US cookery book I enjoyed very much was Antony Bourdain's. He sold me one thing in particular: the importance of making STOCK. This is something that has really improved a lot of the dishes I cook, and as he says, it is not at all difficult. You just need to remember to do it, once in a while, and keep some stock (chicken is the most versatile) in the freezer. Quote
