The Sun, Moon And Flag Themes

Is there a flag of a country that has ONLY the Moon in it ? If not, then why not ?

 

Here is my thought process on this -

 

* The Sun and Moon co-exist

* The Sun can exist without the Moon

* The Moon CANNOT exist without the Sun

 

AFAIK the only flag to have this is the flag of the Maldives. (Here too there exists a background and a border, each with their own symbolism).

There is one with a moon and a star and our sun is a star.  But perhaps I am stretching your point a bit?

I think the crescent moon and star can be found on the flags of several muslim countries: Turkey, Pakistan and some others. I can't think offhand of any with just a crescent.
