The tech person at my ISP calls my modem a "voice modem".  Does anyone know why it is called a "Voice modem"?  Since she sent the instructions via email, I did not get to ask her.

Thank you. hazelm

voice modem is an analog telephone data modem with a built-in capability of transmitting and receiving voice recordings over the phone line. Voice modems are used for telephony and answering machine applications.
