DingerM786 Posted December 23, 2017 Report Posted December 23, 2017 Greetings! Recently a friend of mine was talking about this Physics problem he encountered on Physics contest. Question states: Whats is the Maximal Possible Thickness of Ice on Earth. Could you please give us the answer on this topic? Thanks in advance. According to the National Geographic Society, it states 'It is more than 400 kilometers (249 miles) long and 2,500 meters (1.5 miles) thick. The Antarctic ice sheet is the largest block of ice on Earth.', if this information is helpful i am glad to help Quote
studentgary Posted January 7, 2018 Report Posted January 7, 2018 Take the volume of the oceans and divide by the land area --assuming all ice is to be on land.Multiply by the expansion of water-to-ice. Quote
