DingerM786 Posted December 23, 2017 Author Report Posted December 23, 2017 I don't know whether I am typical but the hardest challenges for me in my life have been:- my final exams at university,- finding and winning the woman who became my wife,- dealing with her subsequent illness and death from cancer,- winning my novice sculling race and- singing solo for the first time in front of an audience. I struggle to see what useful role artificial intelligence could have played in any of these, because what made all of them hard challenges was that they involved an inner personal struggle of will, emotion and the psyche. Ok, so you think it was inner personal struggle of will, emotion and psyche that causes hardship to problems and you think AI's won't be able to solve that Quote

hazelm Posted December 23, 2017 Report Posted December 23, 2017 This isn't exactly the topic but it is close enough to be of interest. http://bgr.com/2017/11/09/mini-brains-mice-organoids-ethics-research/ There was a better write-up about it in Science Daily but I cannot find that one now. It didn't have all the scare tactics that this one has. Google had a long list of sources if anyone is interested. Quote
