Time Series Selection Is Purely Arbitrary

Postulate - Time series selection is purely arbitrary .

 

Assumption -

 

1. There is no absolute time. (from relativity).

2. The number series 1,2,3...24 is our choice.

 

Observation -

From (1) and (2)

 

  1. We can select any number series (with a common ratio) to represent diurnal time. eg) a logarithmic series
  2. We can divide that series into any number of convenient units, purely as per our convenience.
  3. We can even invert the current number series 24, 23, 22 .... 1.

 

Conclusion - Calibration of time in the manner that is currently the normal convention is purely a matter of choice and completely arbitrary
