Vmedvil Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 (edited) This is about Chronic Wasting Disease and how to delete the prion sequence related to the disease.http://www.cpr.org/news/story/can-scientists-stop-the-zombie-disease-killing-elk-and-deerhttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26809254 This Disease is caused by a misfolded protein called a prion which happens naturally all the time as mutations occur in DNA which code these proteins due to various causes, cause mutations to happen, which are outlined in other posts over the internet, but DNA do serve as the blueprints of proteins thus corrupted blueprints cause corrupted proteins. What not all misfolded proteins that prions do is reproduce, I am convince that self reproduction in microorganisms at this point are the cause all, microbial disease after many years of research, viruses without this trait of self reproduction are harmless the same is true of prions thus not all prions cause prion diseases, only the ones that reproduce. Much like the Viral and Bacterial diseases, prion diseases do indeed self reproduce causing infection of the host organism, which a protein based disease. Now, for viral infections the key to curing the disease is cleavage of the Viral RNA or Viral DNA to stop reproduction and damage to the cells and organism, CRISPRS can be used to silence the Viral DNA which CRISPR is a DNA Endonuclease a class of proteins that cleave or cut DNA, which CRISPR can be guided with Guide RNA sequences, mutating the Viral DNA in the host cell to the point of malfunction of the Virus via damage to Viral Genes by Cleavage of them. CRISPR or Cas9 was originally found in the Bacterial Immune System of certain bacterial doing this for a different purpose. Now, for the same effect on a Prion you would need a Protein that does Protolysis or cleaves Amino Acids on a specific sequence, that can be guided like CRISPR an example would be p10 in HIV, which does Protolysis naturally on certain sequences to form the separate Virus Proteins, which was used in the Harvester Project post to the same effect via hydrolysis to cleave the Carbon on Carbon bonds of proteins via a protein called a Protease. Or this Could be put into a Viral Vector that have been spoken about in many of my posts all over the internet which inserts desired DNA into the cell's existing DNA to always remove any prion disease proteins once targeted to a certain Protein Sequence or amino acid sequence, which effectively can eliminate any prion disease due to mutation until malfuction like CRISPR, Prions being still proteins still containing amino acids which are like the base pairs of proteins, which can still be cleaved or cut out by Protease Class Proteins. The Below picture being HIV-1 Protease(HIV-1 Gene p10) which is a protease that does protolysis on multiple specific sequence of amino acids. HIV-1 Protease Natural HIV-1 Virus (BSL-2) "Dangerous" Retroviral Vector. (BSL-0) "Harmless" Edited January 23, 2018 by Vmedvil Quote
