Chacmool Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Have you ever tried a Sudoku puzzle? I just discovered them yesterday, and I'm already hooked! ;) Briefly, you are given a 9x9 grid with some cells already filled in. Each row and column must contain all the numbers 1-9, but each number can only appear once in every row or column. Also, the 9x9 grid is subdivided into three grids of 3x3 each, and these must also contain the numbers 1-9 (each only appearing once). If you have tried Sudoku already, how successful have you been? What strategies seem to work the best? Quote

Tormod Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 It's quite fun, yes. We should have an interactive Sudoku game here at the forums... ;) Quote
Chacmool Posted July 12, 2005 Author Report Posted July 12, 2005 Interactive Sudoku here would be great! ;) Quote
Douglebert Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 :D I am now absolutely addicted to Sudoku :D . What to do. What to do. It started out as a different game (Number Place) and then a few additional rules were added, rules which are now frequently ignored, and re-named Sudoku. It looks like a time waster but it has hooks, and once you're caught, you are caught good. Be sure to take a look at the more popular sites inclunding sudoku.com, wikipedia, etc. Essential Guide and Links to SuDoku at http://www.el.com/links/sudoku.asp is a great launching point to an internet of Sudoku! :D Quote
Aki Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 They're like my favourite puzzles! People would do them all the time in physics class, and we'd compete on who's the fastest. Here's a site that has a new sudoku everyday:http://www.dailysudoku.co.uk/sudoku/index.shtml Quote
AlanBriers Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 I'm also a Sudoku addict, though still only a learner. I'll try the Sudoku websites listed, but I've already downloaded some software from http://www.sudokupc.co.uk. SudokuPC is really good as it has over 500 pre-loaded games, and you can also load games from the newspapers. It gives hints if (when?) you get stuck! Alan Quote
