hazelm Posted March 29, 2018 Report Posted March 29, 2018 (edited) To anyone who might be as fascinated with dark matter as I am, this gets attention. They have found a galaxy with no dark matter. The galaxy seems to also have some other unusual quirks which Peter van Dokkum of Yale University discusses. Why would a galaxy have no dark matter? Or not be of either of the well-familiar shapes? Or other things different from what cosmologists expect to see when they look "out there"? Peter van Dokkum has some good ideas about what may be going on. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/03/180328130724.htm?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sciencedaily%2Ftop_news%2Ftop_science+%28ScienceDaily%3A+Top+Science+News%29 Edited March 29, 2018 by hazelm Quote
LaurieAG Posted March 30, 2018 Report Posted March 30, 2018 The expanding universe, and therefore dark matter, is also under question. https://lppfusion.com/is-the-universe-really-expanding-observations-contradict-galaxy-size-predictions-based-on-expansion/ Quote
