why is volume/ concentration a factor in how many particles reacted. why not only Mol? isn't what is being tracked is how many particles bond with other particles? about how many element/ion disappear in order to form compound?

Concentration is not a factor in how many particles have reacted.

It is a factor in how many react per unit time. That is what "rate" means.
