C1ay Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 Correct me if I'm wrong here CraigD, but my physics reference book gives the conversion for kg to lbs as .45359kg = 1 lb. Therefore, 75 times .45359 would equal: 34.01925 lbs. Where am I going wrong here?IOW, 1kg = 2.2 lbs right? Think about it.... Quote
Qfwfq Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 But the data were metric, who cares about pounds and feet? Quote
CraigD Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 IMO, we shouldn't give people the answer to their homework, only help in finding the answer themselves.I agree. So here’s the same problem, different numbers. A winch hauls a 2250 kg truck up a 37 meter high hill in 1 minute. How much power must it have? Jumplas, try your hand at this one, and post your work and results. That way, we’ll know you understand the physics. Other people don’t post your result until Jumplas does. Quote
