special j Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 I'd just like to hear some intelligent theories... all the insane sounding explanations on those paranoid shows are really much too far fetched. are there any more plausible ways it could have happened?
deamonstar Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 what explosion in particular? there have been many nuclear ordinance testings and that big meteor among other things....
special j Posted February 13, 2004 Author Report Posted February 13, 2004 1916. the one hundreds of eye witnesses said slowed down. Meteors and comets don't slow of course.. and with no meteor rock or evidence of a comet to be found at the impact spot, it's even more of a mystery. .
special j Posted February 13, 2004 Author Report Posted February 13, 2004 an that tesla therory seems way out to lunch.. but not as much so as a crashed UFO exploding, heh. anything more realistic? i heard one person suggest anti-matter or a pin-hole sized blackhole... but those both are pretty out to lunch as well. what could have created a nuclear explosion before we had nuclear know-how?
Phire Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 I have heard about the tesla theory, and the comet theory, but the anti-matter or pin-hole sized blackhole sound very intriguiging . About the comet/asteroid: what if it skipped like stone on water. Im not very sure about the dynamics of falling rockets going at many thousands of kilometers per second, but maybe the object slowed down like some a stone when it skips on the surface of a pond. I think of this because it might not been a very big asteroid, or else it might have left a crater. It exploded in the air. Antimatter is a very exotic explanation. It could tie to the fact that the scientist have proposed that particles are created and then instantly annihilated. But, im pretty sure this only happens in a vacuum. The tesla explanations seems partly interesting if you think about a very little known but very interesting and rare atmospheric phenomenon called ball lighting. Ball lighting is a ball (duh) of superheated gas that carries an electric charge. What if mister telsa or one of his compartriots was playing with high voltage electrical equipement at the same moment of ball lightning. Anywho, its prolly just some crazy idea I thought of while writting this reply. But its worth looking at.
special j Posted February 14, 2004 Author Report Posted February 14, 2004 Yeah man, there are a couple problems there tho.. Tesla would have been dealing with more electrical energy that we even now have the ability to discharge. As for a skipping commet, i am pretty sure a object entering earth's atmosphere, like a comet or astroid, would not be slowed down or skip. If it were to skip, it would not have entered at all i imagine -- but what do i know (nothing). Also tho, that negates the eye witness accounts of the thing slowing, changing direction, etc. hrmm
