IrishEyes Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 This is the question I'm asking myself as I sit here at my computer, knowing full well that the sink is full of dishes, the laundry needs to be folded, the dining room needs to be swept, and I still haven't registered for fall semester, even though I'm on the computer every single day. So tell me, which one is it? Should I spend less time here and more time doing the things I *should* be doing? Or should that other stuff just take a back seat to my overwhelming urge to hang out, read, and keep learning? The dust bunnies scream that I need to be doing something else, but my brain is so stimulated when I'm here that it's just so hard to leave. And even when I do manage to pull myself away, I still find myself wondering what new news story C1ay has posted... what smart retort Buffy has formulated... what crazy scheme DM has come up with... what wile poem orby has composed... what fascinating math problem Turtle has solved... what nice thing niviene has said... UGH! Do you see my dilema?Do you have one too?Tell me about it. I want to - need to-- know if anyone else feels the same! Quote
Dark Mind Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 Or should that other stuff just take a back seat to my overwhelming urge to hang out, read, and keep learning?  UGH! Do you see my dilema? I see a misspelled word :naughty:. :umno: Do you have one too? I'm about to, from the above .Tell me about it. I want to - need to-- know if anyone else feels the same! Wouldn't be here if I didn't feel the same. Tormod should put a warning label on this site: Warning: May cause severe addiction leading to you sitting in front of the monitor all day soaking up every last bit of knowledge contained within these hallowed forums. Side effects include, but are not limited, increased IQ, expanded mind, better sense of humor :smart:, and new friends.:friday: Quote
IrishEyes Posted August 3, 2005 Author Report Posted August 3, 2005 UGH! Do you see my dilema? I see a misspelled word ICK. I know. I saw it as well. Right after I hit the 'post' button. Wasn't quick enough to stop it from posting. So I figured I'd run upstairs and grab a bottle of water, then come back and fix it, but you'd already captured it. Now I'm gonna have to edit TWO posts.Make that THREE, counting this one. Nah, I'll leave it. It just shows that I'm human, right? Even *I* make spelling errors, regardless of how much you know I hate them, DM. :naughty: They really bother me in my own posts, but I'm getting used to it, I guess. Funny, when I had a spell checker, I never used it but very rarely make mistakes. Now that it's not a feature, I seem to find them more often. Sometimes as often as once or twice a week. My oldest loves to read over my posts and tell me when she finds one. Of course, I think that girl has a spelling program running in her brain. She's gonna win a National spelling bee, if I ever let her enter one... Quote

pgrmdave Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 I'll go through phases, where I'm alternatingly addicted to Hypography and Matazone. For the past month or two I've been there, I'm starting to come back to here more often. Quote
Turtle Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Taking a wave model view, the net result is interference either way. Then you may ask yes, but do you ride the interference on a crest or in a trough? I find both here; when it's a crest I paddle & steer like hell, and when it's a trough I just hang on with the grip of death.___In regard to spelling, the immediacy of the web over letters, or faxes, or other print communication ever in existence, demands tolerance of speeling airs. You kan ficks thim affter the smocke cleers. Quote
GAHD Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 I find that hypo interfears with life, but I like it that way. I like to know that somewhere out there, there are a few sane people. Quote

Jay-qu Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 why M? For me its part of my day, I wake up and read the new posts, sometimes while eating breakfast, then go to uni. Sometimes if I have a break between classes I will check back in. Then when I get back home I am back on again! After dinner if there is no homework to do I might half watch TV but be sitting there on my laptop reading new posts as they come through, just randomly stumbling around the web reading.. what an existance :) Quote
