Tormod Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 It's also possible that any problems from two years ago were fixed... :friday: Yeah, the original poll is about a completely different software platform, before vBulletin! :eek2:
Tormod Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 If you have boadband, you enjoy fast speeds. Got any other type... you get to wait. My father-in-law has ISDN (ie, 64Kbps) and the forums load quite fast there.
ronthepon Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 The distance factor...? It shows 230.4 kbps (yes 230.4 Kbps) and it takes 2 minutes to load. (blue screen with tab at top). Another one, just a meter or so away from this computer has broadband and takes two seconds to load. Now an interesting thing is, (to any developer) that when I press the stop button during this load time the screen appears usually. Further, I can easily see the source even when it's loading and it seems to be the same as after the loading.
Jay-qu Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 sounds like a browser issue.. clear your cache, sometimes that works
Tormod Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 Another one, just a meter or so away from this computer has broadband and takes two seconds to load. Are you saying that it loads fast on a neighboring computer and not at yours? If so, rule out the distance factor. ;) And that the behaviour of the page load is different? Then there is something up with your computer.
