petrushkagoogol Posted April 2, 2019 Report Posted April 2, 2019 Law of randomness If a quantity is by its very nature random (law), then is it not a case of chicken and egg syndrome, because a law implicitly means non-randomness ?Can there be non-randomness in randomness ? Quote
sluggo Posted April 2, 2019 Report Posted April 2, 2019 Can there be non-randomness in randomness ? That would be a contradiction of terms! 'random' implies unpredictability or by chance or without planning.A particle has three modes of decay, with no understanding of how it happens. Each mode has a probability assigned from a history of observations.(a method the weather people use)Random results from not knowing the 'law' that governs the decay process.
