IrishEyes Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 Turtle, I vaulted to #4, mainly because I have been living on BC and Red Bulls for the past week or so in an attempt to finish things here and start things there (between houses, you know). Also, with birthdays and in-laws and dinners at the shelters to cook, I've hardly had any time for playing the game. Bummer in a big way. News update...We have puppies again. And a new house. Still no internet there, so I have to check up on you guys at the old place. Nemo has been on business travel to WVa a LOT lately. He missed our anniversary. It's our second oldest daughter's birthday today. Our oldest son has a birthday on Saturday. I'm still not done shopping for Christmas. And I forgot to mail out a package to Norway last week. Shhhh...don't tell Tormod. I'm hoping to get to the post office sometime very soon. I really miss you guys. Play a round of Hypography for me, ok? I am not a bot.I am not a bot.I am not a bot. (There, all that gibberish about junk, along with my very flat-out bot-denial, should fool them for a while, right?) Turtle 1 Quote
Tormod Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 And I forgot to mail out a package to Norway last week. Shhhh...don't tell Tormod. I'm hoping to get to the post office sometime very soon. T-bot did not see that. :eek2: (In fact, T-bot cannot recall having had time to send a package to Virginia, either...) Quote
IrishEyes Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 T-bot did not see that. :eek2: (In fact, T-bot cannot recall having had time to send a package to Virginia, either...) :)No package from Norway??? That means all I'm getting is the in-laws!! No worries, friend. I'd all but decided to mail your presents after the 25th anyhow, thereby extending the season for those adorable little beauties of yours. Plus, I haven't bought Yvonne's gift yet!! Shhh, don't tell her that, ok? I just haven't been able to find it! You'll get your box in January, but please know that it is sent with the biggest abundance of Christmas love in the world. And can you please put the T-bot back in the box until after the holiday season? I want the real T here right now! :) Quote
cwes99_03 Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 A "win" to me is at least one very good post every day, one post where someone says "thanks, you made me think about that in a new way" or a post where I actually get to help someone. That's a real 'win'. A 'lose' for me is having to moderate a thread, or having to reprimand a member for something. That makes me feel like I have failed, because I just think that everyone should be nice to each other. However, if I have to do it, I try to be as tactful as possbile. Sometimes I even succeed. So if you succeed you turn a lose into a win right? Quote
Boerseun Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 But the Tao: how does it seem?Got myself a new Labrador puppy, and I'll letcha know... I can tell you a lot about the 'Tao of pooh'. Quote

Pyrotex Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 ...& complexity is the Mother's Sun. I know those liars, & I trust them, even if I don't know who they are anymore. Call them to the table & make the truth out; I only may look on after & generally get a whiff of things. So make the poll/pole/pull up & I will try & remember how I voted, voted, voted. Turtle,I want to be just like you on the day when I never grow up. :eek2: Pyro Quote
Pyrotex Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 i play to lose cards, and make my shoes look less new..I play to win. For me, winning is to be allowed to play. Turtle 1 Quote

I really miss you guys. Play a round of Hypography for me, ok? ___I love puppys, & I love your intelligent communications Irish.:) Hello to Nemo & your cherubs, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Birthdays, & Happy New Homecoming. ___The truth is of course I am human & I forgot to vote my own poll again, but I just corrected that over sight. The further truth is I don't care what is the source for any "intelligence" I encounter as I have my own judegement of what "intelligence" is. Even in the case of the AI ELIZA Buffy mentioned, wherin the AI responds by rewording input to output, it is merely then a reflection of myself & so just another tool for efficiently self-organizing over time.___So, no matter the category you-all-every-one pick in the poll, I look to find aspects of intelligence in individual communications/posts.___Nice to see Boerseun, Racoon, & cwes playing to play. :) Quote

Happy new year! The question is, do I think it is significant that you mentioned me mentioning Buffy mentioning ELIZA?;)and I'll mention me mentioning Eliza which makes it directly recursive (boy I hope there's data to trigger the terminating clause in the recursion!) Pyrotex Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Happy New Year to everyone. I must say that I enjoy Hypography a little more every day, and I have learned tons about science... and zigatons about myself. There are some REALLY neat, knowledegable, patient and generous folks here, and I shall strive to emulate you as opportunity affords. As I grow older, I realize that the phrase "Happy New Year" is actually a celebration and congratulation for surviving the Old Year. And to quote The Who: Out with the Old Boss!In with the New Boss!Let's hope We don't get fooled again! :) Quote

Turtle Posted January 5, 2006 Author Report Posted January 5, 2006 Turtle, I just love all your elegant and flashy icons (avatars). Who's your tailor? I am my tailor. :) I sometimes make my own thread, dyes and broadcloth, and sometimes I use that of others. I love all things textile in, of, & for their arithmetic. I love my mother for teaching me to sew, Turtle Quote
