CCC - We have some 18th century marriage  records in a county in Kentucky. One column is headed
"Married by".  After a number of names, it will say "John Doe", CCC.  I am guessing it is either Clerk (or Cleric) of County Court or Cleric (or Clerk) of Circuit Court.  Or same words in reverse order.

I have checked Google to no avail.  All it knows is Civilian Conservation Court which, of course, is not it.

Would anyone know for certain?  Perhaps some other state also used or still uses CCC for the minister at public court marriages?  Thank you.
