So I was watching a TV show about a religious cult where the Cult Leader had taken over a town with his religious followers then controlled the police directly along with was marrying 20 wives while forcing all the males to leave the town and told them that they were rejected from Heaven. These people follow these religious nutjobs with absolute belief because they think he was a prophet, What are your thoughts on this?

Humans on this Earth seem to be a very gullible species. They can be easily manipulated and are easily manipulated. It can be easily said that the main line most popular religions are cults it's just they gained so much money and power to keep it going. Look at the Catholic Church for instance one of the biggest cults in the world. How many millions of people died because of the Catholic Church over the years?

I think it can also be said that governments around the world are set up much like cults also. A little difference is every 4 to 8 years we get a new savior or devil depending on your belief of the puppet in charge at the moment. Although most of the religious cults ask for your money while the government cults just take it.

I think what it all boils down to is people want to give powers to entities other then themselves. Many feel like they need some kind of leader to guide them through this life. When in reality the power lies within each and every one of us. And most of the time these leaders just lead them to slaughter and loss of freedoms.

First of all Victor, was it real people or was it more of your animated cartoon characters?

And then, if it was real people, was it in America? That would be necessary information because it would help on answering your question.

So to begin with, assuming it was real people in America, we can begin with understanding that Americans are already very susceptible to beliving superstitious nonsense and that makes them easy prey.

To be fair on that, it's not meant to tar all Americans with the same brush because undoubtedly there are some that are as immune to that kind of nonsense as other people of other countries. It's just that America seems to have lots of gullible people by comparison.

I won't explore your question any further now until you tell us it's about Americans.

No, that's silly. This is not most of the time, it's an isolated instance where some charismatic leader gets away with it. Trump could be an example except that he hasn't got away with it yet, to the extreme that Victor is on about.

First of all though, we need to know where this happened and if it's real and not just cartoon characters or some movie?

edit: Yeah, sounds like the Oregon story.

as I see that this thread asks our personal ideas about the content of this thread. I think;

** we should comply official rules first.

** if the remarked or any of religious implication is supported by science with upper level of theorems (I am not sure really how to demonstrate this as a definition but yes,to be a theorem that is supported by other theorems (preferably at least three) might be accepted as it satisfies this definition/requirement) should be complied either.

** what to do with religious propositions that are not supported by any scientific contribution? ,well I think we should be free about this but I would remind and point out first idea. this means people should not give harms to others (i.e.: the compliance of official rules is required)

But in the left-right paradigm it was Obama who was evil to the right and running the country off the cliff. Now that Trump is in he is evil to the left. You see America is being run off a cliff no matter what puppet is in........ Well yes I was being dramatic when I said that however if you look back in time look at how many countries rose and fell even doing a study on the Roman empire will show you that. What happened to the once great Egypt as another example? Learn your history or you are doomed to repeat it. Which keeps happening over and over and over.

Long ago ISIS wished to become the God of Egypt "Flamingo"
Flamingo being the representation of RA.
ISIS became infuriated with RA and started erasing hieroglyphs and destroying temples.( temple of the phoenix.)
When you see a snake and staff it was usually the symbol of the flamingo the legs that look wrapped up.

Just a possibility I've enjoyed.
