High myopia, cataract and gene

For high myopia associated cataract that gradually developed after age 45, is there any study about this relationship with gene?

I am interested in the timely expression of certain disease during our life span such as Huntington's disease due to the excessive repetition of HTT gene sequence. The more the repetition exceeds the normal level, the earlier the disease will occur. Are there other timely expressed diseases caused by repetition of gene sequence? Is high myopia associated cataract be one of these diseases?

Once there was a study of lanosterol to reverse the cataract in animals but seems not working in human.

Wouldn't it be great if we can unentangle or reverse the reaction of forming cataract by developing protein that unfold the crystallin in the lens?
