Carlos Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Is anybody taking CIE's board A Level? Today I had the first day of school (Yr13) and I was quite disappointed that my teacher chose "Growth, Sex and Reproduction" for the options, instead of "Mammalian physiology". :hihi: I was excited to know how the brain, muscles, liver etc worked with much more detailed but my teacher didn't want to chose it... Anyway... Quote
UncleAl Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 1) You don't need a license to think. Go the the Web or to a library and read. 2) Excerpted from Tom Lehrer's "Be Prepared!" ("This one is a little song dedicated to the Boy Scouts of America.") If you're looking for adventure of a new and different kind,And you come across a Girl Scout who is similarly inclined,Don't be nervous, don't be flustered, don't be scared.Be prepared! http://www.casualhacker.net/tom.lehrer/revisited.html 3) American zero-goal education ("every child left behind") will not meaninfully perturb your nascent state of ignorance in any real-world perceptible way.
