pamela Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 hey William, i think Freeztar nailed Reason's riddle with clocks you seem to have become overzealous with these riddles-Karnuvap's is gonna get lost in the shuffle-how about posting one at a time until solved, this will make it easier for every one to see and not be confusing;) Karnuvap* "what goes up a chimney downbut can't come down a chimey up" Quote
Karnuvap Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 Hi there, Sorry to disappoint. The answer is neither Smoke nor Santa Clause. Ahh! the joys of the English Language and its ability to be understood with words missing. For example in the above I could have said "With some of the words missing" but the shorter form is just as correct. This is what is in play in my riddle. If you guys haven't heard that one before then surely you must have heard this one. It is, after all, the riddle of the Sphinx. What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs in the day and three legs in the evening? Please tell me you have heard this one before. Karnuvap - but, please, call me Karnie. Quote

modest Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 To William's last riddle, I'd guess the answer is Ramesses because he famously had a bunch of children and led a military campaign that I'm quite sure he decidedly declared himself victorious. ~modest Quote
