pamela Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 are we talking whole numbers here, or do we need the master numer-ator Turtle to lead us:D Quote
freeztar Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 It's a whole number. Not 9 though. As a hint, it's not 1, 2, or 3 either. :smilingsun: Quote
Turtle Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 How about this one for some funI'm thinking of a number from 1-10What number am I thinking of then? One? :bouquet: When "then"? :smilingsun: Quote

freeztar Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 All righty thens; what base have you used this time? :bouquet:Â Â When I was formulating it, I considered making it a binary riddle, but thought it might be too obscure for most. So, it's in base 10. Â Remember everyone, it's a riddle so things are not always as they seem. :smilingsun: Quote

freeztar Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Mmmmm...but as a binary riddle the answer can't be a whole number (unless it's zero :)) Or 1. ;)But, like I said, this riddle is in base10. by either common definition of "whole number", so by "not always as they seem" you mean a sneaky snake trick. :D Turtle down!! ;) Well, I'm not sure what exactly a "sneaky snake trick" is but I'll go ahead and say yes. :DI looked up the definition of a whole number just to be sure and of course wiki lists 3 different definitions. So, to avoid the semantics, let's just say "integer" instead. Quote
freeztar Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 I still think the answer is -9. :) Sorry, Reason, I must have missed your post in the flurry. Yes, -9 is the answer. What is assumed to be a hyphen is actually a minus sign. ;) Kudos! Quote
Thunderbird Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Ok Here's one I just conjured up. Good luck. I come from blue faces in the depths. In the east they say I came from heaven.I come in many colors. but only two types. If you know the nature of me, you should also know me. What I’m I ? Quote
