I have had day long debates with people and come up with no resolution - my idea is that there is two ways of interpereting it, and I actually remember a time when I could see it both ways - been himself and his son... but that was a while ago and I have forgotten the logic... You would replace "this man's" with "my" and replace "my father's son" with "me" (since he had no brothers/sisters) and you get: my father is me. While through incest I guess you could become your step-dad, I don't see how you can become your own father. I'd love to see the logic, sounds like some real fuzzy logic.
