Turtle
President Clinton is listed as our 41st president but only 40 men have held the office. Why? I thought Bush Sr, was 41? That aside, is it because Monica held the president's post? :eek2: :eek2: :QuestionM

infamous
is it because president johson, i think, was impeached? No, not the answer. BTW, Turtle is right, Bush Senior was the 41st president but this shouldn't change the answer to the riddle. Chalk another one up for the Turtle, wise man that he is...... CraigD
President Clinton is listed as our 41st president but only 40 men have held the office. Why?Because Stephen Grover Cleveland served 2 non-consecutive terms, so is both the 22nd and 24th POTUS.

Tormod
President Clinton is listed as our 41st president but only 40 men have held the office. Why? There were 43 presidents AFAIK (or the 43rd is serving). Of those only 17 have served in the oval office. But I may be misunderstanding the riddle completely. :QuestionM

But I may be misunderstanding the riddle completely. :QuestionMYea, this riddle is becoming a bit confusing so I'll give the answer so we can move on: Grover Cleveland held office during 2 nonconsecutive terms. He was our 22nd and 24th president. Therefore as of today, 43 presidents, but only 42 men have held the office.
