You are about to go on a journey which will take 6 days. The maximum amount of food one can carry is for 4 days. How many people total would need to go for you to make it to your destination without starving, and how?

(Note: Each must survive)

Ha...

You'll only make it 4 days...:thumbs_up

One person. He could go one day with you and one day back. He can then give you his extra two days of food. This would give you six days of food.

If one pigs out before leaving that could count for one day of food. In that case, one would only need one more day of food. Your friend could also pig out and follow you for two days and two days back, using only three food days of carried food. This would give you the extra one.

3 people would have to go. first stops after 1 day gives 2nd and 3rd guy 1 extra days food, now the 2nd guy stops the next day (2days in) gives 3rd 1 day worth of food and heads back, 3rd is now 2days in with 4days worth of food, can make it alone.
