quadrilateral numbers? (are there such things?)

The answer to the riddle is not quadrilateral numbers.

However, there is such a thing, or things shall I say. We have two types of quadrilateral numbers, the square numbers & the oblong numbers.

Both type belong to the meta-set called figurate or polygonal numbers (now under discussion in the Katabatak thread :confused: )

No; that isn't the answer.

Another clue perhaps?:eek: Hypography has an entire thread dedicated to the topic; moreover it contains all the information you need to answer the riddle & explain the meaning of each clue it contains.:D

Why yes, it is. :) The vesica piscis is the one shape made of two intersecting circles at 120° which makes one star hexagon, two star pentagons, two squares, and one rectangle. :shrug:
