 Double pooey for me because I thought pointing out that there are 3 clocks was the solution so I didn't bother trying to do a calculation. ;)

I still think it's too poorly written to count as fair, but what the heck. I say the clock (I don't know which one) is fast by 19 minutes 15 seconds.  In any case, it sounds like it's time for Moody to get a new watch or fix the clunker he's got.

the clock would be 11 minutes 15 seconds fast.

No, sorry.

Agreed.

Maybe he should try a sun dial...

For any who care:

The station clock is 3 minutes fast.

The morning journey took 65 minutes, and the evening journey therefore took 52 minutes, and the train arrived 57 minutes after it should have left, that is, 3 minutes early.

I disagree.. I think the riddle is flawed in its own logic, I tried to do the math but found it was inconsistant.. but you never know its not like Im studying second year math, what would I know :Guns:

Sometimes one will stink while the other dosen't??....................Infy

While that is true, it is not the precise answer I have in mind. The correct answer implies your observation, but with an indirect twisted turn of phrase that makes this riddle a standout.

It's not my invention this time; I think I first heard it from my father. The riddle is not susceptible to clues without giving it away, which I intend not to do for a bit.

 :eek_big: ;) ;) :hihi: ;) :D

So, what about my answer, on the previous page?

Checking...please have a seat in our well endowed waiting room...smoke 'em if ya got 'em...:esmoking:

I asked: What is the difference between humor and odor?

You replied:

Humor is a shift of wit.

You have it correct Sir; have a cigar. :esmoking:

:ebohoo:

What do you call a leg perpendicular to a foot?

Broken.
