alexander Posted October 22, 2005 Author Report Posted October 22, 2005 that would be quite ok, work-wise i win, but still its a nifty script for people to read through :)whoever said that bash isnt powerful, must be a fanatic of Bill Gates :) Quote
alexander Posted October 22, 2005 Author Report Posted October 22, 2005 another cool tool is pf(which i prefer to iptables, but iptables is all we got in linux :) ) and snort, also dont forget nmap and ettercap(if netcat is "the swiss army knife" of network security then ettercap is a swiss army knife that makes you coffee in the morning, fixes your car and builds your house for you) Quote

alexander Posted October 24, 2005 Author Report Posted October 24, 2005 do you ever use "-lsah" argument with ls Kill? Quote
rockytriton Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 hmm, that must not be available on AIX: poppy1:/work/jsf/config# ls -lsah ls: Not a recognized flag: h I usually use ls -lstr so that I can see the most recent files at the bottom, I tend to use that often because I usually have to go through tons of log files and need to see the most recent ones. Tormod Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 top - I wish that had that on AIX, it's such a pain to figure out the memory/cpu stats for all of my applications, I have to have the admin give me the info as it is now because I don't have access to the AIX tools that do it :) Yeah, in the brief period that Hypography was on dedicated servers I used the top command constantly...to find out what the heck was driving our load up in the high nineties... :) Quote
