I’m trying to find an equation to calculate the note that will be produced by a bar of a given material, length and diameter. Is there such a formula? There are indeed formulas to calculate the notes produced. Please have patience and I will address this as soon as I have some free time, or maybe someone else will get to this before I do. Consequently, it is difficult for me to find the incentive to go into this in detail. However, I did find this interesting paper which does delve into what he wanted to know about; the equations for the musical note that will be produced by a metal bar of a given material, length and diameter.
