Tormod Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Hey folks I have installed SuSE 9.2 on my laptop (since it was the only one I had available on a DVD and I was out of burnable DVDs...) and so far I have managed to configure my graphics card, the monitor, and the wifi (weee) so I am able to surf etc. It works really well. However, I have a HUGE problem with the built-in trackpad. It is hypersensitive to the extent that I can hardly open the Application menu without accidentally launching something. I tried to install Knoppix just to see if the same thing happened and yes, it did. Did a couple of searches and found that this is common. I *think* it is a Synaptic Touchpad, since both distros reported so. But...how can I fix this? My lappy is almost useless unless I attach a mouse. :) Quote
C1ay Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 You can find touchpad drivers and a utility called tpconfig here. Quote
Tormod Posted October 30, 2005 Author Report Posted October 30, 2005 Thanks, C1ay, I'll try that out. Quote
Tormod Posted October 30, 2005 Author Report Posted October 30, 2005 Wow...I didn't realize how big an issue this really is. You'd have thought it would be built into the most recent distros by now...? Quote
rockytriton Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 I can't stand those little mouse track pads, I always have to use an external mouse on laptops. Quote
