Tarantism Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 in passing, a friend of mine told me that they (being a certain group of computer designers) were going to completely change the was memory works on a computer. i was wondering if anyone knew anything about this? Quote
nemo Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 I've also heard "they" are behind a number of technological breakthroughs, also as of yet unknown to the general public... I'd have sworn I met one of "them" once, but all I remember is him putting his sunglasses on and asking me to look at this popsicle stick with a shiny light on one end... Quote
alexander Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 there is a number of groups that were going to do that, the best one, to my knowledge, being a group of researchers who are trying to develop a silicon compound that will allow silicon to have electromagnetic properties which would allow industry to change over to the new type of ram without having to change much in RAM factories, and for consumers would allow suspending your system and coming out by going through bios and have the OS just pop up exacly the way you left it (which you can already do, but no thanks to the current RAM technology, RAM still needs power...)...
