Which console would you rather have?

lol, it does look a gazillion times more impressive then a 360, lol, and it really does have a bunch of games, none of which actually tap into PS3 possibilities... even MGS4

Update, Linux is running on PS3, you can install Yello Dog (which used to be the only distro for PPC macs, till everyone was like, oh f* this, we can make our dist available for PPC too), now they have a boot loader and a full blown, beautiful and easy installer for PS3, runs Beryl and AIGLX for shinyness and can still play games.... Oh and did i mention that PS3 can also be used as a TiVo on demand too (MythTV project)

I would definitely get the PS3. I'm a hardcore PS2 fan, and never really got into the whole XBOX thing...

Since I'm already familiar with the controller for Sony's systems, I'd much prefer the PS3 to anything else.

Unfortunately I have yet to buy one. :)

 

I am however a strong supporter of the US economy... so for everyone else... buy an XBOX.:beer:

wait for a little longer... sony needs to get their hand out of their ears and release the console in their originaly specified design dammit!

 

No DONT buy an XBOX, you are NOT supporting US economy, you are supporting a US software giant, that infringes pattents like nothing, and does not like to cooperate in building interoperability in any system they have designed, violating antitrust laws and court rulings on an every-day basis!

 

To any one of 100 000 sony employees reading this post:

 

Get rid of the ****ing PS2 chip on the PS3 and put another CELL on it (or 3), change the damn firmware and run software PS2 emulation when playing a PS2 game, dammit it will still berform better then a PS2 on the PS2 games and PS3 will be the all mighty console for years to come, expensive, but capable of resolutions unimaginable to modern day TVs, and physics computation power comporable to that of 4 dual quadcore AMD or Intel server farm! And dammit quadruple the ram you include on the console, its not that hard, make it worh a G, but be better then anything anyone else can produce for years to come, like PS2 when it was released!

In all this talk of “nextgen”, it’s wise to note that for the past 9+ months the market has been speaking pretty loudly in favor of the “lastgen” PS2. A brief (because getting sales statistic proved harder for me than expected) rundown:

Except for a couple month surge in Wii (the Nintendo formerly know as the Revolution) sales, the PS2 is continuing to dominate the market. For some reason, I couldn’t find and recent original Xbox sales figures to include in my comparison. PS: per this wikipedia article, "NVIDIA ceased production of the Xbox's GPU in August 2005, which marked the end of Xbox production and the quick release of the Xbox 360" - which would account for my difficulty finding 2006-2007 sales figures :beer:

 

So, I wouldn’t worry about a shortage of new PS2 games anytime soon, or feel compelled to replace it with a PS3.
