Plant / Animal DNA

Oops!!!!! Sorry, I should have done a search first. Any good reading suggestions would be appreciated though.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Can someone point me to some sources of information. I have been reading a lot lately and it sometimes raises more questions than I can get answers for.

 

Are plants and animals related? Do we share any common DNA? Could plants ever evolve into something we could call an animal or visa versa? I love to read if you can suggest something that explains this better.

After reading about Carl Woese, you should also probably read up on Lynn Margulis and the endosymbiotic hypothesis regarding the origin of eukaryotic cells.
