Pyrotex Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 oh, wow, this discission got a little heated.:cup: Heated?! :cup: I intended to merely share some "clinical" information. Quote
Pyrotex Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 me:loricybin:At any given moment then, God would be experiencing (4,000,000,000/(4*60*24*3) or roughly 230,000 orgasms...assuming my assumptions and math are correct. I also assume that something similar takes place with other species. As Mel Brooks has said, "It's good to be the king". :cup: :cup: LOL :cup: LOL :cup: LOL Your math is okay. A quarter of a million orgasms at any given moment. And it may be interesting to note that about 10% of those orgasms will be from solo activities and 5% of them will be from same-gender partners. Rough estimates, of course. My previous post re: humans are divided into two groups, those that DO and those that have issues. -- I hope no offense was taken. Of course, there are those that DON'T and it has nothing to do with brain damage, trauma or character flaws. Quote

GAHD Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 ...I have no idea what you are talking about when you mention being completely different after climax than before. Is this a guy thing?..I don't think so, I can't say I've experienced it myself. Maby the fluid-swap mixes more estrogen and/or testosterone into the bloodstream and causes this effect in some people. Maby it's just that these people have a stronger chemical coctail in their skull than I do. Either way, it raised my eyebrow too. Quote
armofreek Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 hahaha, confrentation is amusing. its just two people babbling about how right they are, when in reality they both need to just shutup and drink some tea... :cup: WOOOOOO!!! Quote

Pyrotex Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 I come into this discussion a little late, and very confused...treating the subject of sex as taboo seems to me to have been a part of the social rules as far back as history records. (more so in some cultures than others, but still...)...! Hello Drosera, and welcome. Your post betrays no confusion that I can discern. Sex as taboo may not be all that common. Many Amazon jungle tribes sleep in hammocks inside a roofed shelter with no walls. Their only privacy is whatever darkness the night provides. Children hear and see whatever is going on, from infancy. In the writings that survived from the Greek "Golden Age" (~400BCE) there are indications that some children were 'taught' sex by older adults. Murals in family rooms of Roman villas display a wide variety of sexual acts. In the Old Testament, we see that in Noah's and Lot's culture, the ideas of incest and offering one's children for the entertainment of others was not exactly as taboo as they are in our culture. But even in America, children raised on farms in the 19th Century left their letters and diaries indicating that their knowledge of private parts and how they functioned was pretty complete even before they reached puberty. My theory is (strictly an opinion) that the practice of "protecting" children from any knowledge of private parts and how to use them began in Europe during the "Dark Ages". It may also have begun elsewhere or at other times as well, but I would be speculating. I freely admit that I speculate. I also masticate. :cup: Quote

Maby it's just that these people have a stronger chemical coctail in their skull than I do..... Getting back to the original subject -- it may be a personal thing. When I was younger (up to 45?) I felt a distinct change of mental state afterwards. It was like a sharpening of all my senses. As I lay in the dark, I could hear every sound in the apartment. I was suddenly aware of railroad trains miles away. The memories of the day were clearer, almost visual. Stress and tension were gone for a while, and I often made important decisions for the next day in the tens of minutes after MB. This conversation has made me aware that I do not experience such a distinct state change these days. Maybe it's age. :cup: Quote

HydrogenBond Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 I don't think anyone is afraid of sex. Some people are uncomfortable with the dating process leading to being able to have sex. The nice guys are not the ones getting laid all the time, it is the bull artists. Woman want men to be honest but dishonesty puts then in the mood. Woman need to be a little more up front with sex, with respect to the nice guys, so these men don't have to depart from their nice guy personality to have sex. In my own experinece the nice guys finish last when it comes to sex. When I decided to be an arrogant A-hole, I got way more than my share. But I never felt right being like that so the sex/deception was a wash. Maybe this is a good argument for legalized prostitution since the transaction is upfront and honest and requires no deception or illusion. Quote

Drip Curl Magic Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 I don't think anyone is afraid of sex. Some people are uncomfortable with the dating process leading to being able to have sex. I'm not sure.... there are probably some people out there that are a little intimidated by intimacy... but I havn't heard of anyone like that. But it doesn't seem too unrealistic. What I have heard of, though, is people that straight up, don't like sex. Perhaps because it makes them feel dirty? maybe they were raised to believe that it was an incredibly taboo act that should never be performed? The nice guys are not the ones getting laid all the time, it is the bull artists. Woman want men to be honest but dishonesty puts then in the mood. But I never felt right being like that so the sex/deception was a wash. Maybe this is a good argument for legalized prostitution since the transaction is upfront and honest and requires no deception or illusion. This makes sense... and would probably explain why I've never been very sexually active.:cup: Quote

Perhaps because it makes them feel dirty? maybe they were raised to believe that it was an incredibly taboo act that should never be performed? I would definitely agree that there has to be lots of people that have trouble with sex itself, one way or another. "People that strait up" I assume means we uptight people? I suppose you're probably right there too. But in my post I specifically mentioned that I was always uptight, without conditioning from my parents. We were not raised religiously, nor were they in any way negative about sex as a topic, other than not wanting to discuss it in detail. But this was the seventies and early eighties, and some things were still not discussed with your children. The nice guys are not the ones getting laid all the time, it is the bull artists. Woman want men to be honest but dishonesty puts then in the mood. Woman need to be a little more up front with sex, with respect to the nice guys, so these men don't have to depart from their nice guy personality to have sex. As a general statement, I would also agree with this assessment. Not with myself mind you. I've been with only one man in my life, a good guy, and I'm quite pleased with him. But when I think about friends, co-workers, and so on, there is definitely a tendancy to get together with 'losers', as I call them. (liars, users, etc) I always look at the women and wonder what the hell they see in these guys? Never could figure it out. But I've also come to one other conclusion. Both the bull-artists, and the women who want them, are the breeders of the world. It seems to me that most of the people, in our society anyway, that choose more wisely? have less children on average than the bull-artists and their women. Just an opinion there. Sex as taboo may not be all that common Go figure. Live and learn. Thanks for enlightening me. And I love masticating too. No qualms with that one :cup: Take care! Quote
